Water Soluble Clothing from: Fashioning the Future Awards

nikkibarber:

Fashioning the Future Awards is this lovely little gem of an operation that celebrates and rewards designers for using their skills to think outside the box and design sustainable fashion. They are now into their 3rd year, and the winners were just announced for 2011. All of the winners are incredibly unique and talented, creating interesting silhouettes with different types of mostly reusable or reused material. One of my favorite designers created temporary water soluble clothing to raise the question “If fashion is so emotionally transient and disposable, than why shouldn’t it be truly disposable?”

The photo above is my favorite look of the winners. More photos and more information on Fashioning the Future Awards can be found here.
